Yes, Sashless manufacture a full range of Sliding Sash windows under our RichmondTM brand, including a Box Sash (aka Weights & Pulleys) window. Our Box Sash windows are available in many formats including windows manufactured using sustainable Engineered Redwood and hand selected FSC certified hardwoods or in Accoya. They can be fitted with single glazing, slim sealed units, ripple glass (replicating rolled glass), 28mm double glazed units or 40mm triple glazed units. We also manufacture the Richmond dual action sliding sash which provides full circular ventilation for a healthier living environment.
Yes, Sashless manufacture Vertical Sliding wood sash windows using the more modern spiral balance (aka Spring Balance) mechanism which can provide slimmer profile frames to the frame section. As with our box sash windows, they can be fitted with a variety of glazing units including single glazing, slimmer sealed units, standard double glazed units and tripled glazed units.
This usually relates to Vertical Sliding sash window systems such as The Richmond window range. These windows were designed before air conditioning and were intended to create a flow of air (not a draught) into a room, allowing cooler air to enter a room through the lower sash while allowing warmer stale air to exit via the top sash. This circular air flow removes moisture laden, warm air from the room creating a healthier, more pleasant environment for working, living and sleeping in. The RichmondTM dual action sash window raises the lower sash and drops the top sash with one action - as the bottom sash is raised the top sash lowers by a corresponding amount, ensuring that the window operates at peak efficiency.
Yes, Sashless manufacture both flush casement (Sutton) windows and stormproof, or lipped, casement (Cleveland) windows. Both window types are suitable for replacement and new build installations. Our SuttonTM range of flush casement windows includes designs that are top hung, bottom hung, side hung and drop in. Our ClevelandTM range includes top hung, bottom hung and side hung. Both systems are available with either direct glazed fixed panes (to save money) or with 'dummy' sashes for an aesthetically pleasing look.
Yes, Sashless manufacture a comprehensive range of door-sets under our GrampianTM brand. Sashless manufacture traditional timber doors sets producing solid timber doors with mortice and tenon joints or by using highly insulated composite timber door blades. Both systems produce high security, attractive door sets with kerb appeal that plastic composite doors just cannot compete with. The GrampianTM range of doors includes double rebated French doors, slide and fold Bi-folding doors, Front doors and Back doors along with top-lites ( ) and sidelites. All made to measure, not made to fit.

Fully Factory Finished means that our windows and doors arrive with you ready to fit, they are fully finished with an appropriate preservative system using a three coat, spray applied, surface finish (painted or stained), fitted with their glazing units correctly installed, with all of the handles, locks, hinges, keeps, concealed vents and restrictors fitted. On rare occasions, to comply with H&S safe lifting limits, we will supply the windows or doors with the glass units loose for site fitting.
Yes, you can have your windows and doors in any shade of colour that you choose. If you provide a Pantone or RAL colour reference, Sashless will match that colour for you. Alternatively if you provide a paint manufacturers colour name (eg Farrow & Ball Elephants Breath) our paint manufacturer (Remmers) will colour match it for us 99% of the time. You can also have a different colour on the outside to the inside, or the window/door frame in one colour and the windows/doors in a different colour. It's your choice, and with timber windows and doors you can always change the colour at a later time.
Not necessarily. According to an independent study by the Heriott Watt Institute the whole life cost of timber windows makes them the lowest cost choice of window material (Wood Window Alliance standard). And while the initial cost of plastic windows may be cheaper than timber, installing plastic windows and doors can knock thousands of pounds off of the resale value of your property. There's a good reason why high end developers install timber windows and doors - they add value.
The timber used in the construction of windows and doors lock in carbon reducing global warming potential and FSC/PEFC timber is a sustainable source of building materials.
Unlike plastic, timber windows don't co2t the Earth.

All of our timber is from sustainable sources and complies with the EUTR and Cities regulations, our preferred timber is a slow grown, engineered redwood timber with a high heartwood content from Northern Europe (Scandinavia and Baltic). We also offer selected FSC hardwoods such as Sapele, Red Grandis and Oak. Our doors may also use Birch. As part of our ecological commitment we try to encourage our customers to limit the use of hardwoods and where appropriate to use modified timbers, such as Accoya, in their place. Accoya carries a 50 year warranty against rot and is acetylated (modified) in the Netherlands.
For those in the construction industry, think GluLam timber. In a simplified version, the saw mill takes the locally grown Redwood, prepares it, cuts it into lengths, cuts it to the required thickness, removes all of the knots, sap pockets, shakes and imperfections, finger joints the lengths and cross laminates the lengths of timber to form useable, defect free timber, with grain that is non uniform giving increased strength and resistance to movement. Using high heartwood content gives a natural resistance to decay (rot). Engineered timber is the highest quality softwood timber and is ideal for windows and doors.
